The CDMiR was set up between January and March 2017 at the initiative of the Center for Documentation and Research in the Field of Immigration Integration (CDCDI) within the Association for the Promotion of Health.

At present CDMiR consists of 15 organizations, namely: CDCDI Center of the Romanian Association for Health Promotion, Conect Association, ICAR Foundation, Center for Public Innovation, ARCA – Romanian Forum for Refugees and Migrants, the National Council for Refugees, the Advocacy Academy of Timisoara, the Center for Research and Intercultural Communication Iasi (CCCI), the Romanian Association for the Promotion of Quality and Success Practices (ARPCPS), the Philanthropy Association Oradea, the Human Solidarity Association Nova Pitesti, AIDRom, the Society Academic Romanian (SAR), Intercultural Institute of Timisoara (IIT), Legal Migration Association (LMA),  non-governmental organizations active in migration, human rights and advocacy for policy change.

The main objectives of the Coalition are:

• Improving the image of migrants and refugees in the public space through a strategic communication unit;

• Optimizing the access of migrants and refugees to rights by correcting some contradictory / unfounded provisions on the principles of social justice / social justice in the legislation in force and by improving practices / legislative provisions that impact on their fundamental rights.

The Coalition’s mission is to promote and coordinate advocacy activities, monitor their effects, interact with decision-makers’ policies, and influence decision-makers in a transparent and equitable manner in the field of migration.

The Coalition will support its members at national level in implementing campaigns and advocacy actions in the area of ​​migration in specific areas of expertise. Coalition partners recognize the fundamental importance of strengthening cooperation in the field of migration policy by better communicating our actions and coordinating efforts at national and / or European level.

Coalition activities include, but are not limited to:

• Elaboration of position papers on all aspects of interest in migration practices, legislation and policies aimed at eliminating the malfunctions in their application;

• Organization of information / training sessions, seminars, conferences, events aimed at informing the public and the actors about (sensitive) migration issues;

• Initiating debates, including public, by areas of interest;• Participation in meetings and meetings organized by public institutions and other types of organizations in the field of migration;

• Monitoring the press in the field of migration;

• Participation in the elaboration and adjustment of the integration indicators developed through the NIEM mechanism as well as at the national level; monitoring their collection by public institutions;
