On December 6, 2018, APML Romania participated in the 8th plenary meeting of the EASO Consultative Forum, which took place in Brussels. The EASO Advisory Forum is a platform to share knowledge and exchange experiences between EASO and civil society. EASO seeks to manage a real network and a genuine dialogue with civil society, strongly believing that sharing ideas can be a mutual benefit to both parties. The plenary meeting of the EASO Advisory Forum has become one of the most important events of the EASO. The meeting brings together a large number of relevant actors, civil society, international organizations, EU institutions and national authorities, being an appropriate moment to take stock of developments in the field of asylum as well as to strengthen cooperation between the EASO and civil society.

This year’s meeting has been debated how to create a reception system capable of responding efficiently and effectively to migratory flows that are in permanent dynamics. At the same time, there were addressed issues regarding the provision of information to the applicants for international protection in the context of reception, reception of children, provision of emergency reception conditions or coordination between the various actors involved in the reception system. “Reception” – challenges and perspectives – or how civil society and EASO will work more efficiently in the future to improve the reception system.
